I’ve been working on my presentations for the 2009 eduWEB conference in Chicago next week and came up with this Social Media Timeline. It’s definitely NOT to scale and I’m sure that plenty of people could quibble with what I chose to include as examples of “social media,” (I define “social media” as “technologies that facilitate convesations”) but I think it provides a pretty interesting overview of where this stuff came from and how long it’s been around.
