In a fantastic and still relevant talk from 2006, Seth Godin discusses broken design with the same frustration I feel on a day to day basis when interacting with things made by people who never had to use them.
Broken things noticed while writing this post:
- Google Video’s embed button doesn’t automatically move the section underneath it out of the way so you can see the embedding code.
- Blogger lost half my post when I hit preview and then hit my back button instead of clicking the small “hide preview” link.
- Godin’s site thisisbroken.com is, by even 2006′s blog standards, broken. Its images and fonts are weird, its colors are ugly, and browsing past posts is month by month only. I wonder if Seth uses his site?
